• The firm has allocated, for the second time, part of the capital of its Solidarity Fund to different groups with the aim of promoting education and providing basic healthcare material to combat the Covid-19
• More than 70% of the budget for this second donation will be for the Red Cross in Cadiz, Alicante, Badajoz and Seville to purchase tablets for children participating in the "Promoting School Success" Program
Through its social action fund, of which €50,000 had already been spent on basic necessities, mainly food, for various solidarity initiatives related to the pandemic, Castellana Properties has allocated another €58,000 to the purchase of computer material for educational purposes and health products for associations such as the Red Cross, Cáritas in Granada and the Casa de Beneficencia in Valladolid.
Therefore, in order to promote education and help children finish the school year, Castellana Properties has allocated more than 70% of the budget of this second donation to the Red Cross of Cadiz, Alicante, Badajoz and Seville to purchase tablets for vulnerable families participating in the "Promotion of School Success" Program. In addition, the company Vodafone will provide free Internet data cards to children and young people who participate in this program so that they can access the Internet. The aim is to collaborate, as far as possible, so that these groups can finish the school year in the complex situation in which we find ourselves because of the Covid-19.
Another part of the budget will be for the manufacturing of protective masks for Casa de Beneficencia de Valladolid, which will be managed by FabLab of the University of Valladolid. In order to attend the request for help and thanks to the collaboration of Cáritas and the Town Hall of Pulianas, a donation of 1,628 masks and 540 hydrogel bottles will be made in Granada, for the staff of public services and nursing homes in the city.
In addition, free vending machines have been installed in Seville for self-service snacks, soft drinks and coffee for local public services.
For Alfonso Brunet, CEO of Castellana Properties, "This second donation has been allocated to respond to the needs of various groups in the cities where we have shopping centres. One of these included the difficulties that certain children and young people have to continue with their studies due to the lack of computer equipment and internet connections. For this reason, we have donated more than €40,000 towards these materials with the collaboration of the Red Cross in different locations, which will purchase tablets for the schoolchildren. In this uncertain and difficult situation, we must all do our bit to try and get back to normal as soon as possible”.
