· The initiative, inspired by legendary King Arthur, will see its shopping centres turned into medieval spaces offering a whole host of specially-themed shows, parades, activities, games and prizes for all the family.

· Following the success of its Circus Spectacular event last year, Castellana Properties launches this new initiative as part of its bid to transform its shopping centres into leisure spaces for all the family to enjoy.

Castellana Properties, a listed company specialising in the retail sector, launches its new Legend of Excalibur event across all of its shopping centres in conjunction with the Burke Group. Inspired by the legendary King Arthur, the campaign will see each of its shopping centres magically transformed into the kingdom of Camelot, offering a range of special activities and games, shows, parades, photocalls and themed displays, such as the legendary Camelot castle, coats of arms, the famous Excalibur sword and its stone, as well as a giant dragon.

The initiative will feature a range of games, such as King Arthur’s Wheel of Fortune, The Key to Camelot and Joust to Win where excellent precision, memory skills or sheer luck will be the key to success. The jousting game will see players dress up as knights and show their lance-wielding prowess. As a prize, all those who take part in the three games and also show their skills in The Last Knight (a game featured on the shopping centre apps) will receive a Knight’s Diploma and a VIP award . Special magic and comedy shows, such as The Wizards of Merlin and Arthur and the power of Excalibur, will also be put on as part of the event.

The launch of this latest initiative, shows Castellana Properties’ unwavering commitment to converting its shopping centres into go-to destinations for the whole family and into places where people can do so much more than shop, creating leisure spaces that attract people looking to enjoy all sorts of activities and shows, as demonstrated by the footfall figures recorded when these types of events are held. For example, more than 18,500 people took part in the Halloween-themed events organised throughout October across the Company’s entire portfolio. The Circus Spectacular campaign also drew in large visitor numbers, with over 10,000 people coming to the centres to take part in the circus-themed games.

For Cristina Macarrón (CMO at Castellana Properties), “we are extremely proud to be bringing the kingdom of Camelot to our shopping centres and offering such new and exciting leisure options to all of our customers. Between January and April, this project will see our centres filled with a whole host of spectacular shows and activities for all the family. At Castellana Properties we remain firmly committed to extending the leisure options on offer at our centres and to making them so much more than simple shopping destinations. Shopping centres are now places where people go to meet up with friends and family – leisure spaces that offer something for people of all ages to enjoy”.

This new campaign will be rolled out across the whole shopping centre portfolio and in the company’s retail park: Vallsur (Valladolid) from 26 to 28 January; Los Arcos (Seville) from 9 to 11 February; Granaita (Granada) from 23 to 25 February; El Faro (Badajoz) from 9 to 11 March; Bahía Sur (Cádiz) from 23 to 25 March; Puerta Europa (Cádiz) from 30 March to 1 April; and Habaneras (Alicante) from 13 to 15 April.
