Biodiversity

We keep progress in our strategy to protect and promote biodiversity, which is a key part of our environmental commitment. Following the audits carried out across our assets, we have made progress in both asset management and well-being of the surrounding communities. We remain committed to generating a positive impact on natural capital in the areas where we operate, integrating biodiversity into the daily management of our centers, from the design phase to operation and maintenance.

As a reflection of this approach, Berceo features green areas integrated within the center, preserving valuable natural spaces for both visitors and the surrounding environment. Forum Madeira, located in the tourist area of Funchal, includes a rooftop garden overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, combining modern architecture with green spaces designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Meanwhile, Loureshopping stands out as the only shopping center in the country with an external green park of over five hectares, providing a benchmark space for recreation and family activities.

Water

Water scarcity is a major global issue, affecting more than 40% of the world’s population. For Castellana Properties, water resource management is a key element in reducing the impact on the environment. For this reason, the Company proposes strategies to make the use of water as efficient as possible, incorporating into the operations of its assets measures that promote the optimization and reduction of its consumption.

In Portugal, all our shopping centres have systems that allow them to cover part of their needs with non-potable water, which has represented 38% of total consumption in that market (11.7% of the entire portfolio), during FY25.

Circular Economy

At Castellana Properties, we strongly believe in the transformative potential of the circular economy to reduce resource consumption and minimize waste generation. In FY26, we took a further step forward with the launch of Phase II of our Circularity Strategy, which introduces action plans by asset and a monitoring model aligned with our “Zero Waste 2030” objective. This second phase strengthens waste segregation at source, traceability and the recovery of key material streams across our portfolio in Spain and Portugal, ensuring consistent and measurable implementation at asset level.

In parallel, the Circular Economy Policy has been updated, reinforcing the governance framework guiding these initiatives. We have also formalised our participation in the working group behind the GBCe Circular Economy Roadmap, actively contributing to shaping the future direction of the real estate sector in Spain.
