Castellana Properties, a listed company specialising in the retail sector, has been awarded the GPTW 2024 certification by the consultancy firm Great Place to Work – the fourth consecutive year that it is has received this distinction. The consultancy firm commended the sense of well-being expressed by Castellana Properties’ employees, who gave the company an above-average score for every indicator compared with its industry competitors. Respondents looked especially favourably on the company’s strong financial position and support for work-life balance, lifting its overall score 20 points above the sector average.
The certification was obtained via a voluntary survey comprising over 70 questions and was completed by 97% of the company’s workforce. The results reveal a solid performance across the board, with most scores coming in at around 90%. This year’s top ratings were reserved for the company’s policies on flexibility and work-life balance. This financial year saw Castellana Properties launch new policies on flexible workdays, hybrid working and compressed hours during the summer months that have proven highly popular with staff. As a result, its overall score jumped 10% in just 12 months, reaching 94%. This achievement comes after sustained efforts to foster a healthy workplace culture, where employees can balance their responsibilities across all areas of their lives and take care of their physical, mental and emotional well-being.

As well as flexibility and respect for the work-life balance, where the company shines, workplace relationships and a strong sense of shared purpose were highlighted by 90% of employees. 87% agreed that Castellana Properties benefits from a strong financial position, while 84% pointed to high levels of career satisfaction and emotional stability. Overall, Castellana Properties emerged 13 points ahead of the sector average, attesting to its positive workplace culture and priority on well-being.
As a top performer in its sector, Castellana Properties was also rated highly on key dimensions such as two-way communication, continuous support and opportunities for active participation. These aspects feed into an inclusive and participatory workplace, rooted in effective policymaking and a culture of active listening.
