Castellana Properties, a listed company specialising in the acquisition and management of shopping centres and retail parks in Spain and Portugal, has renewed the highest distinction in the EPRA Best Practice Recommendations (BPR) and Sustainability Best Practice Recommendations (sBPR) for the sixth and fifth consecutive year, respectively, recognising the quality of the company’s financial and sustainability reporting.
This recognition from the European Public Real Estate Association comes after a particularly positive year for Castellana Properties. The company achieved a record profit of €168 million, while driving growth and strengthening its structure and operations in Spain and Portugal. In Portugal, it integrated five assets into its portfolio, further consolidating its position in the Portuguese market. In Spain, it completed the acquisition of two assets, located in Madrid and Logroño, as well as a 50% stake in a third asset in Barcelona.
The EPRA BPR recognition certifies that the company presents its financial results in a clear and consistent manner, aligned with European standards. The EPRA sBPR distinction, meanwhile, recognises the quality of its sustainability reporting, highlighting the reliability of data on energy, emissions, water and waste, as well as the robustness of the governance applied to these processes.
In this context, EPRA’s recognition forms part of a strategy focused on maintaining high standards of transparency and quality in the company’s communications. The continued achievement of these distinctions reflects the work carried out to uphold these standards consistently and to apply them to both financial and sustainability-related reporting for more than five consecutive years.
Débora Santamaría, CFO of Castellana Properties, said: “Maintaining EPRA’s highest distinctions for more than five years is recognition of the work we have been carrying out consistently in the areas of transparency and reporting quality. In such a significant year for Castellana Properties, marked by our growth and consolidation in the Iberian market, it is particularly important to continue providing clear, reliable financial and sustainability information aligned with best practices. Our objective is to continue moving forward in this direction and to keep creating long-term value for society as a whole.”
