This magical event has been created especially for Castellana’s shopping centres by master chocolatier Álvaro Romero

Castellana Properties, a listed company specialising in the retail sector, has a new roadshow set to stir up its six shopping centres and the Granaita retail park. “The Chocolate Factory” will feature exhibitions based on the wonderful world of Willy Wonka, chocolate workshops for younger visitors and live action events with games and stories inspired by the characters of this mouthwatering universe.

Over three weeks, visitors will be treated to a huge exhibition comprising more than 100 sqm of decadent creations, fashioned from over 4,500 kg of chocolate, 260 kg of honey and 60 kg of nuts – all dreamt up especially for Castellana Properties by Álvaro Romero, master chocolatier at Choco-Expo. The exhibition is organised into differently themed zones inspired by Willy Wonka’s world, including a village composed of fantastical buildings, giant lollipops and a genuine river of honey and nuts. All chocolate used will be melted down for future works. A working chocolate factory, complete with smoking chimneys, is another star attraction.

For younger visitors, Castellana Properties has developed a series of workshops where children can do cap and apron just like real-life master chocolatiers, learning to work with chocolate and creating their own decorated figures to show off at home. Each workshop session will last for 45 minutes and can be booked through the shopping centre app.

Four live action shows produced by the Burke Group will bring the characters of Wonka’s universe to life. Old and young alike will find plenty to enjoy in two parades: “The Fantabulous World of the Chocolate Factory” and “The flight from the candy chomper ”. Two stage productions, “The Secrets of the Chocolate Factory” and “The Chocolate Factory’s Destiny ”, will tell stories based on the characters of the smash-hit film. What’s more, all attendees have the chance to discover one of five “golden tickets” hidden in lollipops to be handed out after the first parade. The five lucky winners will take home an assortment of sweets and chocolates to savour the memory of their adventures at “The Chocolate Factory”.

The public can visit the roadshow at selected Castellana shopping centres during the following dates: Los Arcos (Seville), 8–25 February; Habaneras (Alicante), March; Vallsur (Valladolid), April; El Faro (Badajoz), May; Bahía Sur (Cadiz), June; Puerta de Europa (Seville), July and Granaita retail park (Granada), August.
