Castellana Properties, a listed company specialising in the acquisition and management of shopping centres and retail parks in Spain and Portugal, has obtained the Great Place to Work® certification—an international recognition that endorses organisations with corporate cultures built on trust, engagement and excellence in people management.

The certification process saw a 93% participation rate across the workforce, a particularly significant figure that reinforces the strength of the results achieved following a year in which the company’s headcount increased by 33% compared to the previous survey. The Trust Index reached 91%, improving on the previous year and exceeding both the scores of the best certified companies and the average of more than 15,000 organisations assessed by Great Place to Work®.

Standout results compared with companies of a similar size and within the sector

When compared with companies of a similar size and within the same sector, Castellana Properties performs above average across all the factors analysed, with particularly strong differences in key areas such as work–life balance and financial security, where the company scores more than 15 points higher than other organisations. Notably, the workplace environment improved by 18 points year on year, becoming one of the company’s main strengths.

In comparison with other companies in the same sector, Castellana Properties stands out especially in fairness, integrity, support, hospitality and pride of belonging, all well above the sector average. These results reflect the company’s strong commitment to a culture based on trust and collaboration, as well as the team’s high level of alignment with the organisation’s values and purpose.

Pride, camaraderie and approachable leadership

By dimension, pride is the indicator that has grown the most this year. A total of 95% of employees state that they feel proud to work for the company and would recommend it as an excellent place to work, while 90% of the workforce believes that their work is meaningful and adds value.

Camaraderie, at 93%, is firmly established as one of the company’s key differentiators, reflecting an environment where trust and teamwork are actively encouraged. Respect and fairness indicators show that employees feel supported, listened to and cared for—even during periods of change—perceiving an inclusive environment free from discrimination based on age, race, gender or sexual orientation.

Leadership is also rated very positively, with particular emphasis on the accessibility, approachability and guidance provided by management teams.

In terms of wellbeing, Castellana Properties ranks above the sector average across all indicators.
